My 12 favorite looks from the 2016 Met Gala exude not only sheer fashion genius but also so brilliantly portray this year’s theme: “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.” From sleek cut-outs paralleling technological minimalism to shimmery metallics echoing the “Silicon” in Silicon Valley, these red carpet dresses are totally machine couture.

After the surprising March snowfall yesterday, I was so happy to wake up to the sunniest morning I’ve had in months. It looks like the good weather will keep up for the entire weekend (knock on wood) so I’ll be shooting outfit photos, getting brunch with my girlfriends, and exploring West Village. I can’t wait to try out the food at this place and get some great pictures on the blog and on my Instagram. Hope you guys have an equally bright and warm weekend!
My favorite posts this week:
- Joanna Goddard’s gorgeous new Brooklyn apartment. A mansion compared to the shoeboxes in Manhattan :’(
- This guy took a picture of 100 Russians at every age. So charming and moving.
- Take a look at the amazing street style at Paris Fashion Week so far.
- 6 affordable leather jackets
- 7 ways an egg can make your skin and hair more beautiful
- Kim Kardashian broke the internet again. This time with her hair.
- What kind of texter are you?

I see white and gold. I tried a dozen times on a desktop computer, a laptop, my phone, Dan’s iPad, you name it…I will never see black and blue. I even almost toppled over my chair just now moving my head in various directions in a final attempt to see what half the internet is talking about. Apparently, this phenomenon has to do with whether you perceive the dress in a shadow (gold and white) or in bright light (black and blue). Read more here.
P.S. The amazon reviews for the dress, which is apparently black and blue although I still refuse to believe it, are hilarious:
Snowmaggedon round 2 is coming to New York on Sunday so I’m going to squeeze all the weekend fun into one jam-packed Saturday. I’ll be shooting a few style photos, trying out Bluestone Collective Cafe in West Village, and eating barbeque at Miss Korea. Hope you all have a sunnier weekend than mine.

You know that emoji with the heart eyes? That’s exactly what my face looked like when I started scanning through the Spring 2015 Couture shows. My jaw dropped, my eyes widened, and I immediately thought to myself, “How can I get invited to a gala so I can wear these dresses.” I swear the couture lines this year were made for me: feminine, ethereal, and extremely detail-oriented. Reigning in 2015 with tons of lace, beautiful rose golds, pearly blues, and sensual shapes, these designers might be signaling a year of ladylike luxury.
